Welcome to the GRACE-Cube Data Portal
Explore gridded GRACE Level-3 data products and visualizations.
Novel 5-day Level-3 solutions
High-frequency (5-day) Level-3 equivalent water height (EWH) solutions derived from GRACE(-FO) observations using an LGD-based formulation. These products focus on resolving sub-monthly mass variability.
Visualization of the TUD GRACE‑Cube 5‑day EWH hybrid solution using Lexcube.
Version 1.0 (Experimental)
TUD-L2B-5dayEWH-GRACEv1.0exp
Early-stage prototype of the GRACE-only 5-day solutions.
Contains preliminary and experimental data and should be used with caution.
Version 2.0 (Coming Soon)
TUD-L3-5dayEWH-GRACEv2
First official public release with improved handling of major outliers,
reduced side-lobe effects from the LGD-only formulation,
and a complete and comprehensive uncertainty product.
Uncertainty product of Monthly Level-3 solutions
Gridded uncertainty estimates accompanying monthly Level-3 EWH solutions. These products provide a complete characterization of GRACE(-FO) and post-processing model uncertainties.
Version 4.0
TUD-L2B-EWH_UNC-GRACEv4
Fully end-to-end user-friendly dataset. Addition of fully corrected (L2A->L2B) variable "ewh_mean_corr", CLIM_CORR data product with additional variables: "ewh_mean_clim", and "ewh_mean_tides"
both being gridded time series with dimensions: (time, lat, lon).
Version 5 (NEW!!)
TUD-L3-EWH_UNC-GRACEv5
Naming convention changed from L2B to L3.
News & Updates
Naming Convention Update: L2B vs. L3 Products from v5 Onwards
Following the formalized naming convention established during EGU26 (Vienna, Austria) on 7 May 2026, all gridded products will be renamed from v2 (5-day solutions) and v5 (monthly uncertainty products) onwards to Level-3. Products not fully processed will additionally carry the designation “uncorrected”.
Version 1.0 released (experimental)
Initial deployment of the GRACE-only 5-day Level-2B fields. Users are advised to consult the documentation for known limitations and appropriate use cases.
Version 2.0 target release
Planned public release including enhanced validation, improved uncertainty characterization, and downloadable time-series products.

About GRACE-Cube
GRACE-Cube provides tools and products for studying sub-monthly mass change signals derived from GRACE and GRACE-FO observations.
Visualization software
Visualization and interactive exploration of the TUD GRACE‑Cube 5‑day Level‑3 solutions will be carried out using the Lexcube software framework, which enables interactive Earth system data‑cube visualization and analysis within Jupyter notebook environments.
Lexcube is described in:
